To celebrate the Chinese New Year I think I'll show some photos from Hong Kong, Macau ,Taiwan and China over the next few days. I hope you like them.

I like how the make-up accentuates the expressions you've caught them in. Very nicely captured theater still.

Lucky you! Among the professionals of the Chinese Opera. This is a first class performance shot. More please! (no flash?)

@Sidonie: I wish I could say Ii was among the performers , and I did try to sneak backstage , but the truth is I couldn't even get in the door, so this was shot through a crack in the side of the tent with the longest lens I've got at 1600 ISO. So if you were to blow this up it would be pretty grainy.
Cool shot! Exposure is right on!

A rare sight indeed. Wonderful clarity for 315mm.

@Stu: Thanks Stu. It's a great lens for sharpness but considering the shutter speed/focal length ratio its suprising its as sharp as it is.
Brilliant photo - love the expressions on their faces, and wow those costumes are amazing! What lens are you using?

Hi Bronnie,
Here's a bit I copied from another about my lens.
Nikon 70 - 210 mm f/4 - 5.6 D set to 70 mm.
Introduction
This is an exceptionally great lens at what used to be a very, very low price before it became a collectible. It was discontinued in the US around 2000. I love it because it focuses much faster than any other telephoto lens priced under $800 today, it's super sharp, has very little distortion, focuses very close and is super compact and well built.
