This photo was taken on the 23rd October 2006 . This was a scene from violent anti -govermnet protests which coincided with the 5oth anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution .A thick blanket of teargas created the smokey background.

Wow what a shot. You've succeeded in capturing a somewhat tumultous, warlike scene involving governments and people. Nice photojournalistic feel to it.

Thanks Paul! This was one of a series of photos shot at this extraordinary time. This was my first real attempt at photojournalism and I was fortunate that some of the shots were used by CNN .

I agree with Paul, such a poignant shot; I like how you can see the shadows of barricades in the background through the eerie tear-gas fog. For me a powerful image, excellently composed.

Thanks Chris. It really was a crazy time and I was lucky to get some good shots without getting shot. I'll post more from here soon.
